HI,

Wow, I'm amazed you found my post! I had the previa, which put me in the hospital on bed rest, the percreta was suspected but unable to be confirmed so they planned for the worst. They began stocking blood for me in the event transfusion was necessary. It was. If your doctors have not begun doing this, please inquire!! This condition is uncommon. Neither of my doctors had encountered anything quite like it before. My OB had never seen placenta percreta and the assisting doctor present for the possible bladder surgery had never had anyone bleed out like I did. I hemorrhaged alot.
Because it became life threatening for me they could not give the time necessary to attend to the bladder fully. I had to return several months later because some small stones had formed around a suture and there was a remaining portion of what was suspected to be placenta. I came through that fine, but it was a long haul for my heart. AFter just healing up from the hystorectomy and then to be re-opened for another major surgery was hard but God sustained me. One year after ALL the drama I am healthy, back to myself and savoring every moment of my little boy.

AS far as the hystorectomy goes, there were so many other things going on. Healing, a new baby, adjusting to life with 4 kids, etc. It wasn't until just this past Thanksgiving (the one year mark) as my son was turning one that it hit me. No more babies. Every new thing Gabriel does takes him further away from being a baby and into a toddler. I found myself grieving. Just moments of sadness that gripped me. Sometimes actual weeping. But I just let it come, wherever I was or doing I let myself feel it. It passed after 2 weeks or so. I don't know if I will experience it again, I imagine I will. I think in order to move past the pain and loss, I have to let myself feel it. I share it with others I trust and it has been so healing for my heart.

I wish you well and that your heart and mind would not be fearful.
Blessings,
Ruth

Hi, thank you for your blog. I am now in hospital and will be here for about 4 more weeks until baby is born at 36 weeks. I have what you had. Placenta previa and percreta. I will almost certainly have a classical cut, hysterectomy and bladder rebuild. Your blog has told me what to expect from this - actually worse than I thought. What was your second op on the bladder for?? How are you feeling / thinking about the hysterectomy?

Oh, what fun! We're going to pick up a family pumpkin tomorrow with y'all. I might try some new decorating with thumbtacks instead of carving this year.
